Estonia will not change the rules of aid for Ukrainians

The Parliament of Estonia did not support the draft proposal to change to stricter rules for granting temporary protection to refugees from Ukraine.

One of the conservative parliamentary factions of the country's parliament proposed to change the rules of temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine and to provide such protection only to persons who left Ukraine legally. Refugees who could not prove the legality of their departure were offered to be sent back to Ukraine.

In addition, it was proposed to check all those who have already received temporary protection according to the same criterion.

The draft decision was defeated during the vote, only 17 deputies spoke in favor of it.
